Postoperative Co-Management and Premium Lens Surgery: Compliance, Documentation, and Financial Considerations
- Postoperative co-management remains a complex and often misunderstood area of ophthalmic practice, particularly when premium lens surgery is involved. This webinar reviews the co-management recommendations published by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), along with relevant guidance from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of Inspector General (OIG).Participants will learn best practices for compliant co-management arrangements, including the patient’s right to choose who provides postoperative care, limitations affecting surgeons and receiving providers, and the requirements for appropriately transferring care. The program also addresses postoperative care request forms, verbal agreements, written documentation, billing responsibilities, and the financial considerations associated with co-managed care and premium lens surgery.By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
